26 Aug Styling the drive…
Every so often, we all get the urge to get away and switch up our surroundings from the typical day to day hustle. Well, with the weekend here, road trips are the best way to explore, relax and view different sceneries. A few weekends back, I bundled up some of my closest friends, some light snacks and all sorts of gadgets filled with road worthy music, for a day trip to Naivasha. The proximity and gorgeous scenery with wildlife made it the perfect destination. If you were wondering how to hit the road in style, this post is just what you need. I decided to step out of the box and include the outfits my friends wore, to point out the variety of choices you can go with.
As cliche as this sounds, my first priority when looking for the perfect road trip attire is comfort. With the long hours spent a car, you need an outfit that will allow you to occasionally stretch and move around. I opted for a playful romper, because nothing defines comfort and style better, and print blew me away. I paired it with sandals that I could slip on and off making my travel even cozier, and sunglasses, which are essential for sun protection and that touch of style.
My friends Janet and Glorie, both went with a cute pair of shorts that matched the warm weather at the time. They each had eye – catching color combinations that blended in with the bright background. Shorts are perfect for that confident, playful girl who wants to keep it sleek.
Alek and Emma were with-it in perfectly fitted jeans that still gave enough room to stretch and move about. Emma kept it trendy by pairing her jeans with a denim shirt, Alek on the other hand, went with a chic cropped top and a plaid shirt. This perfect for an effortless and classic look. Ps. I am obsessed with Alek’s kinky fro.
Lastly, is Cynthia who wore a stunning, polka dot high – low dress. I couldn’t stop myself from joining in, I thought the blue shades blended in perfectly. If you are that girlie-girl who loves print, a dress like this is the answer to all your prayers. I also loved the fact that it was loosely fitted and flowy, which went with our stylish and comfortable theme.
Stay Saucy 🙂
