A Cinderella story…

As a blogger it is sometimes difficult to actualize certain creative concepts. My gallery is currently full of mind blowing ideas but finding the perfect location and the props that match is quite the pickle. On top of that Kiprop (syrupphotography) and I always end up being kicked out because most locations do not allow photography or have ridiculous charges. Sigh! Anyway the point I’m trying to drive home is when life gives you lemons throw them right back. I have always dreamt of taking pictures with a  horse but sadly the opportunity has never come my way until very  recently. Luckily enough as we had driven to a location, all of a sudden some horse riders appeared! In the blink of an eye, I jumped into my gown as Kiprop did all the sweet-talking and voila!! My concept for this shoot had become a reality.

As per the books and word from anyone who has had the privilege of being around horses, they are beautiful, fascinating and very intelligent animals. Within seconds of being around this beauty Esther, she was calm and her whinnying and neighing sounds were described as positive and responsive by her rider. I was terrified at first (there is a lot of evidence of this in the behind the scenes shots) but once I got comfortable I was able to get great shots.

This gown is a piece in my closet that I have not been able to get rid of. It was gift for my high school prom which unfortunately didn’t happen. It has the most tasteful, graceful and classic vibes which make me cling to it and wonder where I’ll ever wear it to.
